In the past, transporting our precious cargo from the South has meant a long 12-hour drive, expense, lots of volunteers, and most importantly, extra trauma and stress for our pups.
Enter Pilots to the Rescue, a fantastic non-profit organization of volunteer pilots who help transport dogs at risk for being euthanized to rescue groups throughout the Northeast. Founded by dog lover Michael Schneider, Pilots to the Rescue pilots pick up dogs throughout locations in the South and fly the dogs at no cost into Lyndell, NJ, where rescue group volunteers can meet them.
Since mid-2019, Pilots to the Rescue has transported over 200 of our dogs. We are so grateful for their help and efforts and their pilots and volunteers’ care and generosity! They are our angels in the sky.
