Thank you for your interest in volunteering with A New Chance Animal Rescue. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization! If you choose to volunteer with us, you would be joining an extremely supportive team
Some areas we need volunteer assistance are:
Transportation
We need volunteers to assist with driving dogs to/from vet appointments and foster homes or picking dogs up when they arrive on transport. You will use your own vehicle, but we provide crates or other supplies that you may need. You can commit whatever time you are able to as the distances can range from a few miles to 40-50 miles.
Fundraising, Marketing, and Events
We are always in need of assistance with fundraising, marketing, and event planning. As a non-profit that receives no funding, we rely on donations to care for our dogs. This is the most important area we need volunteer assistance in. This can be a regular time commitment, or you can assist on a more infrequent basis.
Walking and Socializing Dogs
Many of our dogs need extra socialization help or training. Some foster families are too busy to get their dogs into town or other new environments that they will likely encounter in their new homes. Desensitizing fearful dogs to these new things helps them to settle more seamlessly into a forever home. You do not need prior experience training dogs, but we do require you to do some training with us to assist in this area. Prior dog training experience is of course a plus!
Application Processing
Our Adoption Team is a crucial part of the rescue process. They are responsible for screening each application that comes in for our dogs. This includes checking personal and vet references, home visits, and interviewing applicants. Our Adoption Coordinators will train and support you, but we do ask that you are able to commit at least a few hours each week to this role.
Foster Support
We are always looking for additional assistance in coordinating our foster program. This includes communicating with, troubleshooting, and supporting our foster families. Our Foster Coordinators will train and support you, but we do ask that you are able to commit at least an hour each day to this role. You should have at least several years of dog experience.
Web/Computer Work
This ranges from graphic design to answering emails to website updating, depending on your knowledge and experience with digital work.
Administrative Tasks
We have a myriad of administrative tasks we need assistance with. To help in this role you should be organized and comfortable with spreadsheets.
