Kiara, of South Carolina, was found at about 2 years of age. Distressingly emaciated with her teets exhaustively full of milk, there were no babies to be found with her. Sadly, this gaunt Pitbull mix poignantly illustrates the tragedy of leaving a mother behind and why we have the covenant of “No Mom Left Behind.” Now, sweet Kiara, who deserves so much, is treasured in a permanent adoptive home.
