Bennie was rescued out of a hoarding situation in rural Kentucky. He was so matted that he could barely go to the bathroom and his coat was caked with urine. Thankfully, his “former owner” surrendered him and the other dogs in their home, so they could get the medical care they so desperately needed.
Once Bennie was fully vetted and quarantined, he made his way to New York, where he would enter a home for the first time in his life. Everything seemed new to him, from the feel of sunshine on his body to the lush grass under his feet. After just a few days in his foster home (and plenty of treats!), he started to blossom into a loving, cuddly, and silly dog.
Now, Bennie has a new and better life with his adoptive family who says, “It feels like Bennie has always been with us and we couldn’t be more grateful to you and the team that helped bring him to us. It’s a perfect match. Bennie has been taking long walks with us in Baxter Preserve almost every day. He is a hit on walks around our neighborhood on days when we can’t go to Baxter. He has learned to play nicely with Bernie (his canine brother) and they walk together like best buds.”
