If you’re looking for a dog with a heart of gold, a love for his people, and a whole lot of Labrador Retriever sweetness, let us introduce you to Leo!
Leo is 5 years old, shy but loving and incredibly sweet and is happiest when he’s surrounded by his family. He’s also a 70 lb gentle giant that’s just learning what it means to trust again.
Leo came to us after being surrendered by his owner along with his brother, Apollo, who is four. While the boys aren’t bonded, they genuinely enjoy each other’s company and find comfort in having one another around. We would absolutely love to see them find a home together, but we understand that’s a big request. Our hope is that, whether together or separately, each boy finds a wonderful family with another friendly dog to share life with. Homes without another dog will not be considered.
There is one important thing potential adopters need to know: both Leo and Apollo have tested positive for heartworm. They will need to undergo several months of treatment, and we’re looking for families who understand and are comfortable supporting them through this process. The rescue will cover the cost of treatment, but their families will need to monitor them at home and follow strict exercise restrictions while they recover. It’s a temporary commitment that will make a lifelong difference!
Leo has so much love to give, and we know his next chapter can be everything he deserves. He’s ready for cozy family time, companionship, affection, and all the simple things that make a dog feel at home.
