Max is a big, healthy 4-year-old Golden Retriever (about 82 pounds of gorgeous red/orange fluff!) who had to be surrendered by his family after four years because of housing issues. He is a total social butterfly who absolutely loves people, walks great on a leash, and already knows “sit” and “paw”. He’s a total family guy and used to live with an adult, three kids (9, 11, and 18), a cat, and five other medium-sized dogs, so he’s totally fine with strangers and greats along with other pets he knows. His only quirk that he’s working on is being nervous when he sees strange dogs on leash walks- this is because he was bitten by a dog in the past. Although, he’s trying very hard to conquer his past and did an amazing job ignoring a dog recently that was barking and lunging at him, choosing to just sniff the grass and keep his cool. We’re so proud of him! He just needs a loving family who can manage his toy time, play, training, and of course cuddle time- to help him become the wonderful pup he’s wanting to be. This sweet, loyal boy is completely heartbroken after losing the only family and home he has ever known his entire life, and he is just waiting for a second chance with someone who will give him all the love, patience, and comfort he needs to heal his lonely heart.
